Lately, I have been unable to stop listening to Gregory And The Hawk’s new album Come, Now.
Sleeping States is the lead single from the new LP and it is an easy listen that revolves around a catchy chorus and Meredith Godreau’s sweet vocals. Meredith’s voice is hard to resist and she has a definite skill for songwriting. Her bedroom recordings are hardly lo-fi and Come, Now is definitely a CD worth purchasing.

Meredith Godreau is Gregory And The Hawk.
Apparently the name came about because Meredith’s brother Gregory had an imaginary friend called Hawk. She is not your typical American singer/songwriter and the subjects of her songs can vary significantly with releases such as Kill The Turkey and Avalanche! Oh, Avalanche focussing on animal consumption and “the number one natural disaster in Switzerland” respectively.
On her latest album Come, Now, Meredith has produced the majority of her own material. Come, Now came out earlier this month on June 5th. It is unavailable in Australian shops but you can download a copy here.
Blind And Unwise is the album opener. It is a lazily paced slow burner with a beautiful melody and message.
